The Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) is a growing network of sustainable communities and initiatives that bridge different cultures, countries, and continents. GEN serves as umbrella organization for ecovillages, transition town initiatives, intentional communities, and ecologically-minded individuals worldwide.

The Global Ecovillage International works through three broad regional organisations:

GEN-International has consultative status at the UN-Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) commission, and is a partner of United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR.GEN works within the framework of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014.

This page may load slowly ... be patient ... soon you will see beautiful images from ecovillage initiative and projects throughout the Americas, and beyond! You can click the top right button for full screen of images only. Enjoy!

This site is under construction.

More ecovillage information and Directories will be available soon... please visit again in February!

We are sorry about the inconvenience and invite you to collaborate with the new website, submitting articles, pictures and links of your projects.
